About the Presenter:

David Kay is a workshop presenter working with the Queensland Government’s Department of State Development. He regularly delivers workshops to businesses around the state to help them maximise their ability to take advantage of supply chain opportunities and raise the profile of local content in Queensland. David focuses on practical information which businesses can apply to immediately benefit.

Again this month our humble Indigenous Business Networking events are getting taken to the next level with a three-location simultaneous Black Coffee event being held this Thursday 30th March in Brisbane, Townsville and Sunshine Coast. A partnership between TRIBN and the SEQICC, we’re looking forward again to meeting up with Indigenous business owners from all over South East Queensland.

We hope to livestream our event straight to Black Coffee- Indigenous Business Network Facebook page as well.

Think you know what your customers are experiencing?

Join us Tuesday, 7 February for an informative and interactive presentation on how to confidently shape your customers’ experience of your business.

Led by Justin Bayliss from Five Star Experience, this meet-up will include a special focus on how to understand your how your business is perceived by your customers.

The discussion will feature tips and strategies on:

  • The need to shift attention from Customer Service to Customer Experience.
  • Establishing the skills and processes required to deliver a ‘human touch’
  • Delivering experiences that create raving fans and customers that come back time and time again.

Justin will also discuss what you need to do to put yourself in your customers’ shoes to assess the quality of the experience of your business offers along with an easily implemented strategy for improvement.

Justin Bayliss is an experienced group facilitation expert and trainer. He has had over 25 years of experience in focussing on people before business. Just has worked with Brisbane Marketing to develop the successful Brisbane Greeters at the 2014 G20.

This will be our first meet-up event for 2016, so we’ll be celebrating with drinks and further networking opportunities after the presentation.

  • Date: Tuesday, 7 February 2016 from 6:30 pm for a 7.00pm start.
  • Location: The “Trophy Room” at the Paddo Tavern, 186 Given Terrace, Paddington

2016 NAIDOC Indigenous Business Breakfast – Queensland Government and South East Queensland Indigenous Chamber of Commerce

The Queensland Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games and the South East Queensland Indigenous Chamber of Commerce are hosting the 2016 NAIDOC Indigenous Business Breakfast on Wednesday 6th July 2016 at the Royal on the Park (Avro Bristol Room) Cnr Alice & Albert Streets, Brisbane.

Keynote speaker: Honourable Leeanne Enoch MP, Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy and Minister for Small Business.

The event includes a panel discussion on “The Makings of a Successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Business” with panellists:

2016 Murri Vs Koori Interstate Rugby League Challenge Marketplace

MVKThe SEQICC are proud to support the 2016 Murri Vs Koori Interstate Rugby League Challenge Marketplace. We will be managing and organising stallholders.

We invite interested Indigenous and non-Indigenous vendors to apply.

About the event: The Annual Murri versus Koori Interstate Rugby League Challenge is a free spectator event, showcasing the talents of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women on and off the footy field. The main event is a contest between the NSW and QLD State All Blacks Rugby League Champions, REDFERN ALL BLACKS and the SOUTHERN DINGOES.

The curtain raiser is a local derby between Queensland teams, BRISBANE NATIVES and the CHERBOURG HORNETS playing for the GYEMORE Shield. The first game of the day (as part of a 3 game series) will be a touch game between the Indigenous All-Stars Touch Team and the All-Stars Touch Team. Another HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT will be the 2016 Indigenous All-Stars On-Field Jersey Presentation. With the 2016 NRL All Stars to do battle the day after, event organisers are anticipating a big attendance on the night, with 5,000 PLUS participants to pass through the gates.

The Opportunity
The South East Queensland Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (SEQICC) will be managing the Community Marketplace at the event on behalf of the Arthur Beetson Foundation, the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health and Deadly Choices. The event provides a valuable platform for SEQICC members to showcase to footy fans and the local community the diverse range of goods and services offered by our Queensland Indigenous Business sector.
